​Superfan is a documentary currently in production that explores the depth and meaning of fandom, community, and one woman's journey to discover if she has what it takes to truly be part of a fandom. Over the course of a year, the film follows her personal quest to find out what it means to be a superfan, and she’s going all in! From conventions and photo ops to social media groups, autograph sessions, and full-on cosplay, she throws herself wholeheartedly into the world of fandom to see if there's a world beyond the content and if she can find a purpose through it.

From packed convention halls to quiet online message boards, the film offers an inside look at the vibrant and often misunderstood universe of fandom.  This isn’t just about collectibles and costumes, t’s a story about identity, belonging, and mental wellness.

 

Through candid conversations and heartfelt moments, the documentary explores how fandom can offer connection in times of loneliness, structure in moments of chaos, and even healing in the face of personal challenges. It’s a look at how communities built around shared passions can become powerful support systems.
